At EPIC we aim to enrich the community through connecting everyone. We believe that the more we all work together, the better our outcomes are, and the stronger our community becomes.

Where possible EPIC partners with like-minded organisations and businesses to deliver our services in the Pilbara region.  Being in partnership with EPIC ensures that our communities can be locally connected through community organisations, businesses and local and State government. EPIC is very appreciative of all the businesses, organisations and funders that partner with us in some way, enabling us to deliver services to the Pilbara community. Here are some of their stories.

Woolworths partnership story

EPIC were pleased to be join with Diversity Dimensions and Woolworths to offer Aboriginal employment opportunities in our region. The program provided those who engaged with EPIC a safe and supportive space to undertake relevant training. Following assistance with resumes and providing moral support, EPIC nominated five people for these roles. Participants took part in a week’s training, followed by a week of work experience in store. We were delighted when three people successfully gained full-time employment. Due to the success of the partnership, Woolworths asked EPIC to undertake a mentoring role to support the successful candidates.

Downer partnership story

Through EPIC, the Downer Ready Program offered eight Aboriginal people the opportunity to participate in an eight week construction training program. Following successful completion of the training program, four participants were offered work experience with Downer on their Stage 2 project. Of these, two participants demonstrated outstanding attitude and aptitude are were offered traineeships with Downer Australia. We are pleased to report that the two candidates who succeeded in gaining the traineeship have adapted to their new employment and are going very well.

City of Karratha partnership story

In 2016 EPIC has partnered with the City of Karratha to provide the people in Karratha and Wickham with fully inclusive community Christmas parties. This partnership will ensure that many more community members can enjoy a sociable and fun event while being fully supported.

Coles and SecondBite partnership story

EPIC partners with SecondBite and Coles in a program that distributes fresh, nutritious food to those in our community who are most in need.  We collect the produce from Coles and provide it to people who require support and assistance.
