Sissa Whitaker

People & Safety Manager

Sissa's Story

Sissa Whitaker brings a diverse and people-focused background to her role as People & Safety Manager at EPIC. Originally from Brazil, her career spans international retail leadership, learning and development, and community services , giving her strong capability in building high-performing teams and supportive workplace cultures.

Sissa first joined EPIC through the Jobs & Skills Centre, supporting community members to build confidence and employment pathways. Her strengths in people development and her structured, practical approach led her into HR, where she quickly became a trusted advisor across recruitment, onboarding, training, compliance, and workforce systems.

In her current role, Sissa leads both the People and Work Health & Safety functions, overseeing HR operations, WHS systems, incident management, safety culture initiatives, and organisational training. She is dedicated to strengthening processes, improving consistency across sites, and ensuring all staff feel safe, informed, and supported in their roles.

Guided by EPIC’s mission and values, Sissa believes that strong people practices and safe workplaces directly enhance the quality of support provided across the Pilbara and Goldfields. Her commitment to fairness, integrity, and continuous improvement helps create an environment where staff can thrive , and where EPIC’s community can continue to feel empowered and connected.
